Late October

And so in fall to splendor we come;
nature at her peak mesmerizes me
with her kaleidoscope. She ushers me
into silent reveries, my eyes brimming
with her palette; and has me pleasuring,
gasp after gasp, as she wraps herself
in shades of gold and red.

Hey Cookala, don't know if you're a U2 fan or not but your poem title reminded me of one of my favorites by them, called of course, "October". It has very few words with sort of haunting piano playing. I like the flavor you bring with the pics and words.

Heya, Chuck! It always makes me smile to see a comment from you. I love U2, and I'm honored that the poem reminds you of their song, "October" and I'm glad you like the fit of words to photos. SO now tell me, is it true? Are you selling and moving away from that wonderful pool? (I've been lurking).

Got the For Sale sign in the yard. Not exactly the best time of year to sell...not to mention the market is kind of flat. I don't really want to move but have two girls to help put through college in a couple of years. Where are those guys from publisher's clearinghouse when you need them...

Hello, PlusUltra! Welcome back and thank you! I've finally been lurking a bit at your both your blogs and have found so much to like - your poetry is wonderful, as are the photos you've paired with your poems. You're quite an accomplished poet! I look forward to lurkiing more often if I can - seems I barely have enough time lately to write in my own blog let alone keep up with all the blogs I have listed to see what everyone's up to. Life seems to get busier the older you get, doesn't it? Or is it just me? Well, in spite of that, I do hope you'll have a wondrous, peaceful, loving and happy Christmas; and I wish you much good fortune in the new year! May God Bless.
